Children's Religious Education

The faith formation of children is of utmost importance. We seek to nurture and support the domestic church and the ways parents instill and educate their children in the Catholic faith and model for them a life of devotion, prayer and service.

Baptism for infants through age 6 can be arranged through the parish office. Classes for parents and godparents are scheduled as needed. Baptisms during Mass are encouraged to Easter (March/April), Pentecost (May/June), All Saints (Nov 1), and the Baptism of Our Lord (January). Baptisms outside Mass are usually scheduled at 12.30 pm on the first Sunday of the month.

Children's educational classes are held from 9.40 am to 10.50 am between the Sunday masses using the classrooms in the old parish convent. The classroom entrance is on the left side of the building. Classes are held from September through May. The diocesan curriculum for children's religious education is the Faith and Life series published by Ignatius Press.

Preparation for first communion and confirmation are both two-year programs. Children may start their preparation in first and sixth grade respectively.  Preparation for baptism for children over the age of 6 is held in conjunction with preparation for first communion or confirmation, depending on their age.
